The following collection areas have been designated as collecting priorities.

Agriculture & Forestry

What we collect:

Collections that highlight local and state-wide agriculture and forestry efforts, including materials about botany and gardening in the Upstate, as well as materials related to the National Park Service.

Architecture & Design

What we collect:

Collections that highlight local and state-wide architects, architectural firms, and designers, especially if they originate from Clemson Alumni.

Local Community History

What we collect:

Collections that document the histories of communities in Upstate South Carolina.

Military Heritage

What we collect:

Collections documenting the lived experiences of veterans from all eras and branches of service, with particular emphasis on later 20th‑ and 21st‑century conflicts. Special focus is given to unique perspectives, including narratives from Prisoners of War and veterans whose stories illuminate the personal and cultural dimensions of military service.

History of Neurodiversity

What we collect:

Collections relating to the history of neurodiversity from a broad contextual and geographic scope. As the future repository for the ClemsonLIFE™ Collection, these collections take a special interest in documenting the lived experiences of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

University Archives

What we collect:

SCA gathers, maintains, and makes accessible the University Archives. The South Carolina Department of Archives and History works in partnership with the University to identify for public access to institutional records of historical/archival value according to the Public Records Act. SCA also collects the records of student organizations as well as University related collections, including faculty and staff papers.
