Study Space and Technology

During COVID-19 operations, the EMC has 20 socially distant seats available. Reservations are required for a maximum of 6 hours each day across all Clemson Libraries’ locations and can be reserved up to a week in advance or upon arrival if available.  EMC reservations for College of Education classes, meetings, and events are not available during COVID-19 operations.

Many EMC seats include whiteboard tables with electrical and USB outlets. Others include access to a desktop computer or Clear Touch displays which are highly recommended for socially distant group work. These displays can be used as needed for displaying and annotating digital content, online video and audio conferencing, and use of interactive whiteboard software.

Clear Touch boards can be used  with the integrated Android operating system or by wireless or wired connection with any computer or mobile device. Many applications including Snowflake, SMART Notebook, and Promethean ActivInspire are installed on the Clear Touch boards and can be downloaded from the company websites for individual and field experience needs.

*We apologize for the inconvenience, but the EMC Meeting Room and Keurig, refrigerator, and microwave amenities are not available during COVID-19 operations.

Computer Gaming and VR

The computer gaming and VR area offers advanced desktop computers, large monitors, an Assetto Corsa Playseat driving simulator, a new flight simulator, and access to STEAM games an associated virtual reality equipment available at our service desk.

During COVID-19 operations, all virtual reality equipment must be returned to the service desk for cleaning after use. Reservations are required for a maximum of two people at one time and a limit of one reservation per day to allow for cleaning.

 

Console Gaming and VR / Green Screen

The console gaming and VR / green screen room offers a closed space with a portable green screen as well as a large TV connected to PS4 with VR, XBox One, Xbox 360, and Wii U consoles with many games and controllers and photo and video production technology available at the service desk.

During COVID-19 operations, all games, controllers, and production technology must be returned to the service desk for cleaning after use. Reservations are required with a maximum room capacity of two people at one time and a limit of one reservation per day to allow for cleaning.

 

Meeting / Green Screen

The meeting / green screen room offers two socially distant seats with a large display monitor, HDMI, VGA and AirPlay connections, and a portable green screen for video production. Reservations are required with a limit of one reservation per day to allow for cleaning. Photo and video production technology are available at the service desk and can be used outside of the DML Lab as needed.

 

Video and Photo Editing

Two Mac desktop computers with advanced editing software are available for individual use. Reservations are required with a limit of one reservation per day to allow for cleaning. Video and photo editing support and project consultation is available by appointment and offered workshops.

 

 

 

 

 

Audio Production

The audio production room is currently under construction and is not available at this time.  Adobe Digital Studio spaces, support, and project consultation are available at Cooper Library.

 

 

 

 

 

 

3D Printing

Two MakerBot 3D printer stations are available for free use. Reservations are required with a limit of one reservation per day to allow for cleaning. 3D printing tools and immediate support are available at our service desk, and design and project consultation is also available appointment.

 

 

Work and Collaboration Space

During COVID-19, the DML Lab has 8 socially distant seats available. One seat offers VGA, HDMI, and AirPlay connections to a large display monitor. Reservations are required for a maximum of 6 hours each day across all Clemson Libraries’ locations and can be reserved up to a week in advance or upon arrival if available.  DML Lab reservations for College of Education classes and events are limited due to current safe occupancy recommendations and will be handled on a case by case basis by request.
