Scheduling Information |
Students will be scheduled for up to 20 hours per week during academic semesters, with flexibility around class schedules. Work hours will primarily fall between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, but may occasionally include early evenings for workshops or special events. Specific schedules will be coordinated with each student to ensure availability during peak lab hours and planned programming. |

Job Description for Graduate Hourly Student Position Title: Graduate Student Hourly – Data Visualization Lab Location: Clemson University Libraries Hours: 20 hours/week during academic semesters Hourly Pay: $15/hour Eligibility: Open to currently enrolled graduate students only Position Summary: The Clemson University Data Visualization Lab is hiring Graduate Student Hourly assistants to support lab operations, consultations, training, and outreach. This role is ideal for graduate students passionate about data, visualization, and technology who are eager to learn, teach, and engage with the campus community. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one or group consultations on data analysis and visualization using tools like Python, R, Power BI, and other software. • Help develop and lead workshops on data visualization and analysis tools for students, faculty, and staff. • Assist with content creation for social media, including being camera-friendly for promotional videos, tutorials, and engagement campaigns. • Contribute to the creation of training materials, documentation, and resources for lab users. • Support events, outreach initiatives, and collaborative research projects. • Stay up to date with new technologies and be willing to learn and adapt to new tools as needed. Required Qualifications: • Must be a currently enrolled graduate student at Clemson University. • Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis. • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization platforms. • Strong communication and presentation skills. • Comfortable appearing on camera and engaging in public-facing roles. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience teaching, tutoring, or facilitating workshops. • Additional skills in tools such as SQL, SAS, SPSS or GIS. • Previous experience in content creation, educational outreach, or social media engagement. |
