Open Access Week 2026: Libraries launches new Clemson Journal Finder to help with publishing

Clemson Libraries has launched a new tool to support researchers in finding open-access journals in which to publish their research.

The Clemson Journal Finder (CJF) allows researchers to quickly search journals and discover which journals have Transformative Agreements with the Libraries that allow researchers to publish their work at no cost or low cost.

Researchers can search hundreds of journals by open-access status, publisher, journal title or keyword. The tool is designed to make it easier for researchers to find journals to suit their publishing needs and to know whether or not they will have to pay an Article Processing Charge to publish in an journal.

For journals that are not covered by a Transformative Agreement, researchers who were accepted for publication in Gold OA journals can apply to the Libraries’ Open Access Publishing Fund (OAPF) to receive funds to help cover the cost of publishing. The OAPF awards researchers with up to $1,500 to cover Article Processing Charges for open-access journals.
