Looking to save a few bucks? Clemson Libraries has more than 100 textbooks for high-enrollment courses available for check-out at Cooper Library through the textbook lending program.
Textbooks for a variety of classes are available, from American government to physics to sociology and dozens of subjects in between. Check out the full list of available textbooks here. Textbooks are available for check-out for four hours at a time. The program is supported by Undergraduate Student Government as an effort to help ease the burden of the high cost of textbooks.
Textbooks are selected for courses with high enrollment, high drop/fail rates and large numbers of Pell Grant students. Last year, textbooks for 72 different courses were available. Textbooks were checked out 995 times by 214 students last academic year.
The program also provides free homework codes for students with high need in courses that no longer use physical textbooks. Last year, 13 students received free homework codes through the program. Free lab equipment is also offered to high need students through the program, thanks to a partnership with the Department of Chemistry and the Office of Financial Aid. Students offered free homework codes and lab equipment are selected by the Office of Financial Aid based on need.
