Education Media Center & Digital Media Learning Lab

Education Media Center

The Education Media Center (EMC) at Clemson University plays an important role in supporting the College of Education’s students, faculty, and staff. Managed for the College by the University Libraries and located in 212 Tillman Hall, the EMC offers a rich array of resources, services, and spaces.

Its collections span textbooks, children’s literature, A/V materials, and educational technology.  While some select technology is restricted to Education students, all other materials are available to all Clemson patrons.  EMC items may be requested for pickup at other library locations and the EMC may be a convenient library location for Brackett, Godfrey, Hardin, Holtzendorff, and Mell Halls.

What truly sets the EMC apart is its commitment to personalized engagement from the staff of three. Whether through research support, technology support, color printing, lamination, or book binding, the Center caters to everyone’s needs.

Digital Media Learning Lab

The Digital Media Learning Lab (DML Lab) in 213 Tillman Hall fosters exploration and research in educational apps, gaming, virtual reality, and 3D printing. This student-centered hub promotes creativity, production, and learning.

Several CoE faculty work directly with the facility and students in EDF 4800 Foundations of Digital Media and Learning, EDLT 4800 Foundations in Adolescent Literacy, EDF 9080 Social Media, Games, and Emerging Technologies, and EDF 9110 Theoretical Foundations of Games for Learning, are generally found using the lab and its resources.
