Use of Space
R. M. Cooper Library
The Libraries provide study and meeting facilities to library employees (including groups and committees), students and officially recognized student organizations. Only library employees can book spaces during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm). Special exceptions are handled by the Dean, Circulation Manager, or Facilities Manager.
For information on study zones, please refer to the Study Environment Policy.
Small private study rooms for groups of three or more are available as well as some larger meeting facilities. Some spaces are reserved for library use only during regular business hours. Larger spaces require a minimum number (see the link below for details) and are available for reservation online. The Clemson Libraries site has information pertaining to individual rooms, availability, and amenities. As a general rule, rooms may only be reserved for four times total in a one month period. A reservation may be renewed if demand for the room is low and the room is available. Keys to rooms may be checked out at the Library Services Desk for a two-hour period. Classrooms are governed by the Classroom Use Policy.
Lobby space is not generally recommended as a location for groups; however occasionally, Clemson University departments will set up tables for career placement (or other student oriented activities) with the permission of the Dean or the Facilities Manager.
Emery A. Gunnin Architecture Library
The Lower Level is the designated quiet floor and carrels are available for individual study. Groups of 3 or more may study or quietly discuss projects at tables available in the Reading Area.
Lee Hall Room 112C is available for University meetings when not needed for library instruction or scheduled College of AAH classes.
