Research Interests

Gordon Cochrane is the Education and Political Science Liaison Librarian at the Clemson University Libraries.

Additional duties include managing operations and staff at the Education Media Center and managing the Children's/Young Adult monograph collection.

Previous assignments have included serving as the Engineering Reference Liaison, Systems Librarian, and Web Manager.

Current research interests are centered around extracting useful data from the library catalog to better surface ebooks in discovery, to better inform purchase decisions based on in-depth usage data, and to examine patterns of discovery and resource use in doctoral dissertations (co-investigator).

Gordon enjoys all things Disney with his wife and son and is house servant to two calico cats. If he could be doing anything else, he’d rather be a locomotive engineer in the late steam/early diesel era.
