Overall Sign Policy
General Digital Signs and Entrance Video Wall
Digital signage in Cooper Library consists of the “entrance video wall” and “general digital signage.” The general digital signs will display the “general library feed” and/or the “general university feed.” The entrance video wall will display the general library feed, as well as long-term curated content and social media feeds.
General library feed will consist of advertising for library-related events and information about library services. Content will be produced using templates provided by Adobe Digital Studio or custom-made by Adobe Digital Studio employees. Content must be related to library services, events (hosted, sponsored, or partnered), or building partners. Non-library events or services will not be shown on the library feed. Non-library events or services can only be shown on university feed, and must be submitted through CCIT’s workflow.
General library feed is curated by the Signage Committee and managed by the Marketing Communications Coordinator, who have final say about all displayed content. Long-term curated content feed is curated by the Signage Committee and managed by the Adobe Digital Studio Director, who have final say about all displayed content. General university feed is
managed by CCIT.
General Digital Signs
General digital signs, including those behind the service desk and on the main stair landing of the second floor, will run content including “library knowledge” (getting to know your library) and “library advertising.” “Library knowledge” consists of features on library services and personnel. “Library advertising” is related to library-sponsored or affiliated events.
“Library knowledge” will be curated and created by the Signage Committee at a scheduled rate but not on-demand. “Library advertising” must be sent in at least three days in advance of the event, or the advertisement will not be displayed.
In very rare circumstances, in the event of an emergency that impacts the safety, security and well-being of our patrons, the signs can be used to display emergency content information. The emergency content must still fit brand guidelines. Any other, non-emergency content, is subject to the three-day submission period.

Quality and Content
Screen layouts will be neat, uncluttered, and reflect best practices for library signage policy and university brand standards. Screens should generally have one content block. New content will use template or be created by Adobe Digital Studio.
The general library feed will only display static image slides. Video can be displayed on the entrance video wall’s long-term curated content.
General library feed
General library feed, consisting of event advertising and library knowledge, will be updated regularly but at different rates.
Library advertising content will be created on-demand for upcoming library or library-related events. Ideally, the Marketing Communications Coordinator will be notified via event form (or mail) at least a month before the event. The Marketing Communications Coordinator, in collaboration with the Adobe Digital Studio Director, will decide whether the event needs custom content or can utilize the signage templates. Library advertising must be sent in at least three days in advance of the event, even if the content has been designed by another entity, or the advertisement will not be displayed.
Library knowledge, which consists of features on library services and personnel, will use templates created by the Adobe Digital Studio. Library knowledge will be curated and created by the Signage Committee at a scheduled rate but not on-demand. No fewer than five library knowledge slides will be displayed at any time and no more than twenty. Library knowledge slides will not be displayed for more than three months before being cycled out. New content will then cycle every three months.
Long-term curated content
Long-term curated content, consisting of content like highlights of digital collections and new books, will be updated semi-regularly. Curated content blocks will not be displayed for more than three months before being cycled out. New content will then cycle every three months.
Social media feed, consisting of Clemson Libraries Instagram, is pulled from real-time Instagram feed and thus will show content updates as frequently as they happen.
