Position Description and Duties |
Duties and Responsibilities ● Assist users with computers, printing, scanning, copying, Wi-Fi, and other basic technology questions. ● Support library computers, printers, scanners, audiovisual equipment, and related technology. ● Troubleshoot common hardware and software issues and refer complex problems to library or campus IT staff. ● Assist with the computer equipment lifecycle, including receiving, inventory, setup, configuration, deployment, maintenance, replacement, decommissioning, and preparation for surplus. ● Install and update software, connect peripherals, and prepare computers for staff and public use. ● Maintain accurate equipment records and report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment. ● Assist with secure data removal and preparation of obsolete equipment in accordance with campus policies. ● Help patrons access library databases, online resources, and technology services. ● Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming technology area. ● Follow library procedures regarding privacy, security, confidentiality, and appropriate technology use. ● Perform other related duties as assigned. |

Additional Information |
Qualifications and Requirements ● Must be a currently enrolled student at Clemson University. ● Preference may be given to students majoring in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, library science, or a related field. ● Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and troubleshooting preferred. ● Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. ● Ability to lift, move, and handle computer equipment safely. ● Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality when assisting patrons. ● This is an on-campus position requiring approximately 28 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. |
