Technology Changes at Clemson Libraries

Fall 2021 brings with it several technology changes in the Libraries:

Computers in Cooper: The number of public computers in Cooper has been greatly reduced from about 100 prior to the pandemic down to 15. Data collection on usage has shown us that most students bring their own devices and do not use our public computers. The Libraries will monitor this in fall to determine if 15 is the right number needed.

Printing Changes: CCIT has moved printing to a new print release program, PaperCut. Students will need to download a client on their laptops or mobile devices to print. You can learn more at https://ccit.clemson.edu/support/current-students/printing-plotting/papercut-101/.

New Tech for Checkout: We’ve added some new equipment to our equipment checkout collection (https://libraries.clemson.edu/borrow/technology/). Here is a sample:

· Canon M50 Mirrorless camera (x4)

· Canon T8i DSLR (x2)

· Fotodiox light kit (x5)

· Canon Speedlite 430EX RT-III Flash (x3)

· Ricoh Theta SC2 360 camera (x2)

· 2 additional Sony AX100 camcorders (total x3)

Don’t forget about the Adobe Digital Studio and other high-tech spaces in Gunnin Architecture Library and the Education Media Center/Digital Media Lab.
