Richbell completes inaugural Clemson Chair Academy

Nick Richbell, head of Special Collections and Archives, has completed the Clemson Chair Academy. He was one of 18 department chairs across the University to complete the program in its inaugural year.

The Chair Academy is a leadership development program designed to cultivate leadership awareness, skills and styles for department chairs at any career stage. The cohort participated in monthly sessions, which each focused on different themes, from wellness to enrollment management. They also had a variety of speakers, such as deans and seasoned department chairs. University Historian Otis Pickett gave a lecture on University history, and President Emeritus Jim Barker also spoke to the group and his time as Clemson’s president.

“This was a great group to be a part of, and I am grateful for the meaningful connections I was able to make with colleagues across campus,” he said.

Richbell was the only chair of a non-academic department selected for the program.
