As part of Compliance and Ethics Week, Records Management will host a webinar on the state’s records retention schedule and other policies on Wednesday, October 28, from 2-3 p.m. Click here to join the webinar.
The webinar will be hosted by University Records Officer Linda Needham and will feature Terri Washington, state records analyst for the South Carolina Department of Archives and History. Washington has held that position since 2024. She is a graduate of the College of Charleston and is currently completing the Government Archives and Records Administration (GARA) Certificate Program.
Washington will provide guidance on the recently published General Records Retention Schedule for College and University Records, which was revised earlier this year and is now in effect for Clemson.
A primary function of the South Carolina Department of Archives and History (SCDAH) is to work in partnership with state agency and local government officials in the proper management of their records and to identify and preserve for public access those of historical or archival value. The statutory basis for the Archives’ records management program is contained in the Public Records Act.
In carrying out this function, the Archives’ Records Management Division provides advisory services to these officials in the proper management of their records for the entire records’ lifecycle, including retention, disposition, and preservation.
The webinar is open to any Clemson University employee.
