Clemson Libraries welcomed eight new faculty and staff to the team in Fall 2024.
Gloria Aragon, open educational resources production editor, Clemson University Press — Aragon oversees the production process for the open education resources published under the SCALE imprint for Clemson University Press. She worked as a graduate assistant for the Press for the past two years and recently completed her Master of Arts in English. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Georgia and worked as an intern for the University of North Georgia Press.
Joe Bradford, IT consultant, Organizational Performance and Administration — Bradford assists with technical support across the Libraries. He has worked at Clemson since 2016, starting as IT manager for the Clemson University Restoration Institute in Charleston. Prior to joining the Libraries, he served as senior IT consultant for the College of Science and the College of Education. He earned degrees in information technology and in computer software technology from New Horizon Computer Learning Center and from Tri-County Technical College.
Kaitlyn Dubois, library specialist, user services — Dubois worked as a student assistant at the Cooper Library services desk for two years prior to being hired for this full-time position. She will be graduating in May 2025 with her bachelor’s degree in English.
Naomi Mucci, director, Historic Properties — Mucci served as Curator of Collections for Heritage Village Park and Museum in Largo, Florida, an open-air historical village and museum featuring restored homes and buildings dating back to the mid-to late-19th century. Prior to that, she served as Curator of Collections at the Estes Park Museum in Estes Park, Colorado. She previously held a variety of positions in several museums in Colorado, including the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, the Public Lands History Center at Colorado State University, and the Colorado State University Art Museum. Mucci earned a Bachelor of Science in Public History from East Carolina University, and a Master of Arts in History with an emphasis in Museum Studies from Colorado State University. As director of Historic Properties, she will provide leadership, oversight and vision for Clemson’s historic properties, which include Fort Hill, Hanover House and Hopewell Plantation.
Kelly Riddle, director of digitization and digital projects, Collections and Discovery — Riddle joined Clemson from San Diego County Library, where she served as the Head of Metadata and Digital Projects and Digital Projects Consultant. Previously she served as the Digital Projects Coordinator for Los Angeles County, and the Digital Initiatives Librarian for the University of San Diego. Riddle graduated from Clemson with a bachelor’s in English and received her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.
Emily Shelton, university archivist, Special Collections and Archives — Shelton worked at the University of Wisconsin as an archives graduate student assistant while completing her Master of Library and Information Science degree with a concentration in archives. She earned a bachelor’s in history from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
Patrick Stephenson, manager, Adobe Studio and Makerspace — Stephenson is a recent graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA in film/video/new media studies. He has worked as a senior bookseller at Barnes & Noble in Greenville and an intern at EXPO CHICAGO, where he developed expertise in editing, writing, and publication processes.
Several other Clemson Libraries faculty and staff moved into new roles during the semester. Congratulations to the following Libraries employees on their new positions:
Teri Alexander, learning environments specialist, Organizational Performance and Administration — Alexander recently retired after 37 years of service with the Libraries, and is now back in this part-time role. She started as circulation manager in 1987 and held several positions over the years, eventually becoming director of learning environments. Alexander graduated from Berea College in Kentucky.
Alexis Dale, instruction projects manager, Teaching and Learning — Dale has worked for the Libraries since starting as a student assistant in 2020. In 2022, she was hired full-time as a library specialist, where she worked at the services desk and also assisted as a creative technologies specialist in the Adobe Studio and Makerspace. She graduated from Clemson in May 2024 with a degree in wildlife biology and fisheries.
Tara Wood, instruction and outreach archivist, Special Collections and Archives — Wood joined the Libraries in 2020 as a dual appointment faculty member, teaching courses in the Department of History and Geography and providing outreach and instruction for Special Collections and Archives. Her contributions in this role include providing instruction in archival research, tours of special collections, outreach support at University events, and the development of several new initiatives, including the launch of the “Tigers in the Archive” podcast. Wood earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California, a Master of Library Science with a focus on Rare Books and Manuscripts from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. in History from Arizona State University. Before joining Clemson Libraries, she served as an associate teaching professor at Ball State University.
