New faculty and staff in Clemson Libraries: Spring 2025

Four new faculty and staff joined Clemson Libraries in Spring 2025. Meet the newest members of the Libraries’ team.

Joni Addis, eCollections Access and Licensing Librarian, Collections and Acquisitions —

Addis has a bachelor’s in English from Southern Wesleyan University and a Master in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. She has worked in South Carolina academic libraries for 20 years, with positions in technical services, administration, and access services. She has previously worked at North Greenville University, Southern Wesleyan and Anderson University.

 

 

 

 

 

Mairead Downes, Curator of Collections and Exhibits, Historic Properties —

Downes holds a B.A. in history and classical civilizations from Boston University and a master’s in global pre-modern art from the University of Edinburgh. She previously worked at Historic Deerfield, the Paul Revere House, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Mary Gibson House.

 

 

 

 

 

Yash Mulakala, Data Visualization Specialist, Open Scholarship — Mulakala earned a master’s degree in computer science from Clemson and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Gitam University.  He previously worked as the data manager and analyst for the Institute for Engaged Aging at Clemson.  He has also worked as a teaching assistant in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business and as a data analyst intern for the Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Melissa Stevenson, eResources Specialist, Collections and Discovery —  Stevenson joined Clemson from the University of South Carolina Upstate where she managed the serials collection.  She has held positions at libraries with the U.S. Navy, Duke University, and three campuses of the University of South Carolina.  She has worked with acquisitions, cataloging, serials and electronic resources, circulation, and reference.  She has also served as co-chair of the Library Accessibility Committee at USC Upstate.  She received both her bachelor’s degree in history and her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.
