New elevators being installed at Cooper Library

University Facilities has begun work to modernize the elevators at Cooper Library. The project started January 27 and is expected to be completed this summer.

The project involves new motors, cables, elevator cars, call panels, interior walls and lighting for both elevators in the library. The elevators will be replaced one at a time, so that one elevator will remain operational at all times throughout the project.

Patrons should expect periods of noise in Cooper Library throughout the project. The project will be paused the week before and during final exams at the end of semester so that the noise is not a distraction for students studying.
