Subject areas: ENGL 1030; supporting first-year students, including transfer and Bridge to Clemson students.
What book are you currently reading? Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler
What is your favorite spot in the libraries? The new Reflection Room in 214 Cooper. It is a collaborative initiative between Undergraduate Student Government, the Gantt Multicultural Center, Healthy Campus and Clemson Libraries. This space has a collection that supports reflection, meditation and mindfulness and also has some items to help center and refocus yourself, such as yoga mats, cushions, a salt lamp, and a sound machine. It’s just a space where you can recharge.
What’s the best thing about working for the Libraries? That would be the students. I love helping students, and I really like teaching them about Clemson Libraries because we have so much to offer. Our students are just wonderful. They’re engaged, and they want to learn and that makes working here really fantastic.
What is one thing you wish students knew about the Libraries? Librarians have put together specific resources for classes and subject areas called Research and Course Guides. They can help students get a jump start on their research, whether that’s for their major or for a specific course. They are located under the “Find & Borrow” tab on the Libraries website. I really encourage students to check those out as a starting place for their research.
