The symposium will offer a number of sessions for academic writers, non-academic writers, publishing professionals, students and recent graduates who want to learn more about publishing. Click here for a schedule of events and to register to attend.

“The Piedmont Publishing Symposium surpassed all our expectations in 2025. The panels were lively and engaging and there was a ton of networking between publishing professionals, authors, and students. This year will be even bigger with more panels plus exhibits from presses and sponsors,” said Alison Mero, Clemson University Press director.

Session topics include copyright in publishing, lessons from starting a small press, self-publishing, and southern literature. The keynote will be open to the public and feature Anne Trubek, founder and publisher of Belt Publishing, entitled “Publishing as a Creative Act.”
