Clemson Libraries has started a new Library Leadership Development Program (LLDP) for its faculty and staff. The 12-month program will give participants the opportunity to gain a pragmatic understanding of leadership, build inter-division relationships, learn directly from library leadership and embrace their own ability to lead within the Clemson community.
The first cohort of the program consists of seven faculty and staff:
- Nicholas Baldwin, library specialist in technology lending
- Alexis Dale, instruction projects manager
- Ann Holderfield, art and architecture librarian and director of the Gunnin Architecture Library
- Christie Johnson, e-resources and serials specialist
- Jen Jones, metadata specialist
- Alydia Sims, standards management and assessment manager
- Tara Wood, instruction and outreach archivist
The program is being coordinated by Ariel Turner, associate dean for collections and discovery.
“We are so pleased to launch this program, and I am thrilled at the opportunity to work with this phenomenal group of future library leaders,” said Turner. “The Libraries’ leadership team is excited to witness the contributions they will make both within the cohort, to Clemson University, and to the library profession at large.”
Participants meet monthly to learn about topics related to leadership, specifically library leadership within higher education. The program runs from January to December.
