Cooper Library goes retro for Arcade at the Library Monday, Aug. 22. New students are invited to come from 3-5 p.m. for games and a chance to win big prizes, including Apple AirPods, a Bluetooth speaker, a $75 Amazon gift card and a camping hammock.
There will be stations and games throughout Cooper Library that students can visit to score tickets, which will enter them into a drawing for the prizes. There will be retro arcade games, giant Connect 4, 3-D printed pinball, a 1980s photo booth, trivia, 1980s music bingo and more.
The event is designed to be a fun way to introduce students to the resources and services available in the library, such as the Adobe Digital Studio and Makerspace, subject-area librarians, the Scholars’ Lab, and Special Collections and Archives. Other partners including the Writing Lab, the Academic Success Center, the Michelin Career Center, CCIT, Starbucks and the GIS Lab will also join in the fun.
The event is specifically designed for new students, but any student is welcome to participate.
