The torch of the University Marshal is passed from college to college annually by the Office of the Provost. This honor is bestowed upon the senior-most tenured faculty member within the college. They are presented with with the role of leading graduates into Commencement and leading the procession of Convocation. For this next academic year, the University Marshal represents the Libraries.
As new University Marshal, Jim Cross will be listed in all Commencement programs for August graduations (undergraduate and graduate) through May 2020 graduation and serve this important formal role.
