Clemson Libraries is hosting two Open in October events to teach faculty and staff how to enhance their publishing, scholarly impact, teaching and research data through open resources.
Join Dr. Matthew Macauley from the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences for a demonstration of WeBWork, the school’s experimental new homework system, on Wednesday, October 23 from 12:15-1:05pm in the Brown Room. Faculty can test the innovative open source system for courses in mathematics, science, engineering and business, which is free for students and generates more challenging questions. Registration is not mandatory by is preferred.
Megan Sheffield, Data Services Librarian, will be giving her talk “Primer on Open Data” on Thursday, October 24 from 12:30-1:45pm in the Brown Room. Attendees can explore what open data means in a variety of contexts, discover resources for finding open data sets, get some tips on best practices for making your own data open, and find an appropriate venue to host your data.
