Memorial day is a time to remember those who died while serving in the United States Military. Traditionally set on May 30th, it is now observed on the last Monday in May. In 2019, Memorial Day is May 27th. While most workers are given the day off and it is widely treated as the start of summer, we should all take time to honor the sacrifice of those who died in service to this nation.
Cooper library has put together a display featuring works focused on remembering Memorial Day and the experience of American soldiers in war. The display includes several titles highlighting the contributions and sacrifices made by African-Americans, women, and other minorities in the military. The books are located on the 4th floor of Cooper Library, next to the service desk, and all are available for check-out.
