Meet a Librarian: Alexis Dale

What has your professional and educational life looked like leading up to your current role? I study wildlife biology and fisheries at Clemson and started working at Cooper as a student worker. I went full time after being a student worker for a year and am still taking classes as an undergrad!

What is your role at the Libraries? I am a creative technologies specialist. This means, I assist our technology lending coordinator in helping make decisions on what technology to buy for students to check out (cameras, microphones, etc) and get the tech ready to be circulated. I also help support the Adobe Studio & Makerspace.

What is your favorite book? My favorite book is Pet Sematary by Stephen King. I love horror!

What is your favorite spot in the Libraries? My favorite spot in the library is the Adobe Studio & Makerspace. I love the atmosphere and seeing people work on creative projects. It also has a great view of the rest of the library and outside.

What is the best thing about working for the Libraries? The best thing about working for the library is meeting new people. I meet students, professors, and community members that I never would have come across just taking classes here.

What is one thing you wish students knew about the Libraries? I wish students knew about all the things that we have for check out at the services desk! We have a lot of equipment that students don’t know about like our cameras and projectors, but also small things like calculators and phone chargers. We even have state park passes!
