Susan Harlan‘s “My First Name,” a poem in the spring 2017 issue (49.2) of The South Carolina Review went viral in March. Harlan writes about feminist issues for Jezebel, Literary Mothers, The Toast, The Feminist Wire, DAME, Skirt!, The Establishment, The Manifest-Station, and The Hairpin. She also writes academic satire for McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Avidly, The Synapse, and The Billfold. She teaches at Wake Forest University.
