If you lose or damage a library item, you will be billed the cost of the item ($75 average) plus the overdue fines (25¢ per day per item) and the processing fee ($25). You will receive a bill for any material that is 45 days overdue. If the item is found within six months, you will be reimbursed the replacement fee less any overdue fines.
If you want to replace a lost or damaged item, you must purchase an item of the same edition or newer. You must also pay any extra fees associated with the item (such as a binding fee if a paperback is substituted for a hard-bound) plus the processing fee and any applicable overdue fines. Popular Reading audiobooks are treated as exceptions and cannot be replaced by patrons and will be ordered by the library.
