RefWorks is a bibliography manager that allows you to create your own personal database of citations by importing references directly from online databases or text files. You can use these references in your papers and automatically format your citations and bibliographies in seconds. This tool is free and available to all Clemson students, faculty, and staff.

There are currently two versions of RefWorks available at Clemson: new RefWorks and legacy RefWorks. Please use the information below to select the version you are working with and proceed to login and additional information.

New RefWorks

This is the latest version of the software and is the recommended starting point for anyone who has not yet used RefWorks. It will officially replace the legacy version in 2018.

Legacy RefWorks

This is the older version that seasoned Clemson researchers are likely familiar with. It is still completely functional and is entirely separate from New RefWorks.

More about the transition

Legacy RefWorks will be replaced by New Refworks in 2018 and ProQuest will automatically migrate accounts at that time. If you wish to go ahead and migrate to the new version, instructions are available on the New RefWorks guide.
