{"id":1354,"date":"2018-03-27T17:09:05","date_gmt":"2018-03-27T17:09:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.clemson.edu\/press\/?p=1354"},"modified":"2024-11-26T15:30:00","modified_gmt":"2024-11-26T15:30:00","slug":"facing-south","status":"publish","type":"books","link":"https:\/\/libraries.clemson.edu\/press\/books\/facing-south\/","title":{"rendered":"Facing South"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Facing South: Keyboard Instruments in the Early Carolinas<\/em>\u00a0is both the title of this\u00a0 book and the title of the inaugural exhibit at the brand new Carolina Music Museum in Greenville, SC, which opens in March 2018.\u00a0<em>Facing South<\/em> tells the story of the harpsichord and piano in early South and North Carolina (1700 to 1850) from the point of view of the owners and performers who used them. Rather than form a comprehensive story of the many builders and their technical creations, it tells the story of the southerners who used such instruments.
