Unsupervised Children in the Libraries

Clemson University Libraries provide an adult, unsupervised environment for the purpose of academic research and support of the University’s curriculum. Children cannot be monitored or supervised by Library staff. Therefore, children under the age of 16 must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian. This parent or guardian is responsible for the conduct of children in their care on library premises and must provide such reasonable supervision of their children as is appropriate based on the age and level of responsibility of each child. Library staff will contact the Clemson University Police Department to assist unaccompanied children. This policy does not apply to University sponsored program participants.
