Chris Vinson, head of digital strategies for Clemson Libraries, has been selected for the 2025-2026 cohort of the President’s Leadership Institute (PLI). Vinson was one of 25 faculty and staff from across the University selected to participate in the nine-month leadership development program.
Vinson, who has been with the Libraries since 2011, oversees the team responsible for all the technology that makes the Libraries run, from technical support to managing all the systems that help people find items in the collections to the physical hardware in the buildings. He also serves as special assistant to the associate dean of organizational performance and administration for the Libraries.
Prior to coming to Clemson, he worked as a systems librarian for the College of Charleston. A native of Spartanburg, Vinson earned his bachelor’s in English from Winthrop University and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.
PLI offers participants the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally while also learning about University administration and the impact Clemson has at the state, regional, national and international level.
