New Microfilm Reader/Scanner

*********UPDATE*********

We now have two(!) microfilm reader/scanners!)

*********UPDATE*********

Cooper Library now has a new microfilm reader/scanner on the 4th floor near the photocopiers. It looks completely different than the old machine. It’s a small device attached to a computer and monitor.

The reader works in much the same way as the old reader with one important change; the print job goes to the campus printer queue and can be released at any printer.

For the time being community patrons will not be able to print because they aren’t able to login to the print queue. Patrons needing to print can save their work to a jump drive, take that drive to the Circulation Services desk and they will print it for them.

If you have any questions about how to use the reader/scanner, please go to the Circulation Services desk and they will assist you.

Microfilm moves to new locations

The microfilm and microfiche are moving or in some cases have already been moved.

The South Carolina newspaper microfilm is now located in the 4th floor west (at the back next to the current & back issues of newspapers!).

The rest of the newspaper microfilm has now been moved to Remote Storage. That means when you need it, you can request it and we’ll get it to you. Request forms can be found here.

There are some journals and ERIC microfiche left to move today. The movers will be back and there may be some disruption on the 2nd floor.

Catalog records for film still in the building should now read “Cooper 4th Floor Microfilm.”

More information about what we are doing withe microfilm can be found here (http://clemson.libguides.com/microforms) or by clicking on the Microfilm Moving Madness icon on the Libraries webpage.
