Be sure and check out the Google doodle today! It’s really cute!
We have a few ways to celebrate online:
Have a safe and happy Halloween!!
I know, I know. It looks like we are rushing the holidays but we want you to be able to get in any requests that you need for your research.
Here’s the deal on Interlibrary Loans.
November 16 – Last day to order books during the Fall Semester
December 7 – Last day to order any material before the beginning of January
Faculty and graduate students who will be in Clemson over the holidays may continue ordering beyond these dates but should contact the ILL office first (864-656-5186) before ordering any books.
Why doesn’t ILL take requests after these dates?
- It can take 2 weeks to get a book from another library, longer during the holiday mailing rush. There will be a slow-down in processing at other libraries during Thanksgiving Break. Books requested after Nov. 16th are not likely to get here before the end of the semester.
- Many schools stop lending materials around Dec. 1.
Cooper Library will move to our holiday hours schedule starting tonight at 9pm. You can see a complete schedule of hours for December and January here.
The Libraries’ blog will be on hiatus until the new year! Look for new posts in early January.
We wish all of you the happiest of holiday seasons!
See you next year!

This Friday (December 16) will be the last day before the Christmas break that books requested via PASCAL Delivers will be delivered to Cooper Library. Requesting material via PASCAL Delivers will also be unavailable beginning on Friday.
Both the deliveries and requesting will resume on Tuesday, January 3rd.
December 1 is the last day to order books on Interlibrary Loan. It takes two weeks to retrieve a book from another library, and more during the pre-holiday rush time period. In addition, many schools stop lending their materials around the first of December.
Faculty and graduate students who will be in Clemson over the holidays may order on an individual case-by-case basis, but should contact Interlibrary Loan first.
December 8 is the last day of ordering any material on interlibrary loan until the new year starts.
The Interlibrary Loan Department wishes you a Happy Holiday season!
The Clemson University Libraries is sponsoring an Angel Tree in the lobby of Cooper Library again this year.
There are over 100 tags on the tree this year. Each tag represents one child. The children are from the agencies of Clemson Head Start, Seneca Head Start, and the Salvation Army in Oconee County.
Head Start is a non-profit, federally funded preschool program for children ages 0-4. This program provides quality comprehensive service to preschool children, their families, and pregnant women.
If you would like to sponsor a child from the Angel Tree:
- Choose an ornament and fill out the attached information card.
- Put the completed card in the drop box.
- Bring your gifts, unwrapped in a gift bag (with the ornament attached) to the Library Security Desk.
Gifts must be returned by December 4, 2009.
Christmas time is here (for me, anyway). Happiness and cheer. Fun for all that children call their favorite time of year.
(Can anyone name that tune?)
The blog will be taking its winter break until Monday, January 5; when we will return rested and ready for 2009.
Have a happy holiday!
Our book drops at the Hendrix Center and outside Holmes residence hall will be closing at 10:00am December 19th.
They will be cleared out and locked. They will reopen on Monday, January 5th. Patrons needing to return books during this interim may use the drive up book drops on the east side of Cooper Library.
