Find & Borrow Materials

Visit our Library Resources to Support Online Learning for help finding and accessing library resources during the Spring 2021 semester.

• Can I check out books?

  All Clemson Libraries materials and ILL/PASCAL materials can be checked out at the library service desk or in self-check stations. We encourage patrons to request items in FindIt@Clemson. We will retrieve requested items from the shelves and have them available for pickup.

• Can I check out technology?

  Long-term loan items (cameras, microphones, projectors etc) must be reserved at least one day in advance and can be checked out at the library service desk

  Short-term tech loan (cables, chargers, adapters etc) do not require reservation and will be cleaned between use

• Can I check out dry-erase markers or staplers?

  We will no longer check out dry-erase markers and staplers. They will be given out at the beginning of the semester.

• How can I return my Clemson library or PASCAL or ILL items?

  Patrons can deposit all library books, including PASCAL and ILL, in the book drops or bin.

• How can I return my technology items?

  All technology items should be returned to the library service desk.

• Can I renew items I have checked out from Clemson, PASCAL or ILL?

  Items can be renewed if there isn’t a pending request on them. Log in to your library account to renew online.

• Will I be charged a late fee for the items I had checked out while we were away from campus?

  There will be no late fees charged for items checked out during the Libraries modified operations. All items have been renewed until September 30, 2020.

• Can I request to have items delivered to my home?

  Local patrons can request and pick up materials during using our PickUp Assistance service. Patrons enrolled in online programs or who live more than 30 miles away can request materials be mailed to their home address using our Off-Campus Delivery Service.

• Can I request items from Clemson Libraries?

  Once the Libraries are open, items can be paged from our catalog and available on an open hold shelf for contactless pick-up within 24 hours.

• Can I request PASCAL or ILL items?

  Yes, items can be requested through PASCAL and Interlibrary loan. Some libraries are not able to loan materials yet, so requests may take longer.

• Will I be able to access articles, journals, and ebooks online?

  • Search our website for online materials
  • If you cannot find an item, it can be requested through our Resource Sharing office
  • Or ask a librarian to help you find your materials

• How do I access my library account?

  Log in to your library account your current Clemson ID.
